How to Spa
PrettyCanada.com understands that going to the spa for the first time can be somewhat intimidating. Thoughts about what to wear, when to show up, or how much to tip, might distract you from fully enjoying your treatment. To make your life easier, and your spa experience more enjoyable website_name has put together a list of Tips. They'll answer the questions that you might have, and paint a picture of what to expect at a spa.
Book in advance
Make sure that you book your appointment in advance. Also, be sure to let the receptionist know if you are pregnant, have any special needs, allergies or medical conditions. By giving this information in advance, the spa will be fully prepared to accommodate you upon your arrival.
Mention PrettyCanada.com
While booking your appointment, make sure that you mention PrettyCanada.com and the treatment you would like. Spas only have certain treatments at a discount with PrettyCanada.com, and the rest at full price.
Request a Male or Female therapist
If you are booking a hands-on treatment, such as a massage, scrub, or body wrap, mention the gender of a therapist that you would be most comfortable with.
Know the spa's cancellation policy
Many spas have a 24 hour cancellation policy, but you should double check, just in case. If you violate their policy, the spa may legally charge you for a partial or full amount of the treatment.
Arrive Early
Arrive at the spa 15 minutes early. This will give you a chance to relax and clear your mind before beginning your treatment.
What to wear
Always bring casual clothes to wear after your treatment. Even if you come to the spa feeling stiff, and stressed, you'll leave feeling refreshed and revitalized, so bring something comfortable to wear afterwards.
Wear as little jewelry as possible
If you don't want to loose something don't bring it. Spas will not accept responsibility for lost or stolen items.
Speak Up!
Is the pressure ok? Is the water too hot or cold? Are you comfortable? Remember, your therapist can't read your mind. If there is anything that will make your experience more pleasurable, don't be afraid to let them know.
Limit consumption of food
Try not to eat for at least an hour before the treatment.
Stay away from alcohol on the day of the treatment
Alcohol is known to dehydrate your body, and so does the spa. It's a good idea to avoid any alcoholic beverages if you are planning a trip to the spa.
Drink water
Spa treatments often release toxins from your body. To keep yourself hydrated, be sure to drink plenty of water before and after your treatment. This also comes into play if you plan on using spa facilities such as a steam room, sauna, or whirlpool.
Turn off your cell phone at the spa
As a common courtesy to other guests at the spa, please do not speak on your cell phone, and turn off any mobile devices during your visit.
Gratuity is not included
Standard gratuity is 15-20% of the original spa treatment cost. Even with a discounted treatment for PrettyCanada.com customers, your therapist is still doing the same amount of work. If you are unsure of the original cost of the treatment, don't be afraid to ask. Although you are not required to tip, it is common courtesy and a great way to show your therapist that they did an exceptional job.
